It was a beautiful, but rainy Sunday afternoon at Medinah Country Club when folks gathered to celebrate Danielle & Danny’s upcoming July wedding. Danielle’s mom lovingly crafted a bunch of the Chanel-inspired decor, including vases with the iconic double C … Continue reading
You Name It Events recently got to help host a breathtakingly beautiful bridal shower at a private warehouse in Elgin, Illinois. The setting was complete with exposed beam ceilings, rough hewn wood floors and brick walls that perfectly fit the rustic fall feel of the shower. Using deep burgundy, creamy ivory and bright goldenrod to bring the fall feel to life, the event had a couple of great activities for guests to participate in without having to do any traditional bridal shower games.
Guests were asked to bring a bottle of wine – any bottle of wine – for an activity where the group would provide wine for the couple’s first year of marriage. A bottle for their first Christmas, a bottle for their first dinner party, a bottle for their first fight, a bottle for the first time they are snowed in… and many more! We created simple bottle tags for these extra gifts for the couples and asked them to place them in a wonderful custom eco-friendly wine crate crafted by hand by Brian Behncke, President of ThinkEco². Brian is a construction worker by day and wood artisan by night. He handcrafts these cool eco-friendly products from reclaimed wood and folks are using them in their homes, for special events, as gifts and more! Check out more of their products below.
Our bride loved the natural touch the wine crate from ThinkEco² added to her shower so much that she is planning on using it in her December wedding as her card box! For now, the handmade crate has a place of honor in the couple’s kitchen and will long serve as a memory of their wonderful shower. The care put into the construction of the crate is such that it will become a family heirloom for sure! We will certainly be using these in the future for other vineyard themed events.

Leann’s bridal shower got everyone into the holiday spirit (her upcoming wedding is December 22nd) featuring handmade decorations in her festive wedding colors: red, gold, and silver! Red hearts and glitter paper gown garlands were strung all across the foyer while pretty mums and heart confetti decorated the tables. Guests were greeted with delicious pink moscato and strawberry puree cocktails, as well as a table with an exquisite red velvet cake from Deerfield’s Bakery and homemade sugar cookies resembling three-tiered wedding cakes! A quick game of “How well do you know Andy & Leann?” resulted in Leann’s sister snagging the winning prize: a Yankee Candle! For lunch, the guests were treated to French Fried Onion chicken, salad, rolls, jello, and veggies. After Leann opened her gifts, the group of gals FINALLY sampled the scrumptious cake that was almost too pretty to eat! While guests took home red bags of raspberry M&Ms, Leann got to take the decor (as well as extra cake!). She especially liked the red heart pomanders which were created just for her and took home both of them! Congratulations Leann & Andy – Best wishes on your December wedding!
This spring I got to attend a bridal shower for my cousin, Megan, at a local country club. I thought the shower was super cute – even though it was kept simple. Here’s some pictures of how to make a room fun without going over the top! Nice work! Props to the bride’s Aunt Karen for her cute ideas and bringing everything together.
