I know, I know it is July and in the 70’s! But why not take a road down memory lane during our Chicago Winter Vortex to remember one of YNI’s favorite brides?! Yes, we love all of our brides but … Continue reading
A bridal shower is a wonderful time to celebrate two love birds who are about to get hitched. In Danielle’s case, this idea of “two love birds” was a reoccurring theme throughout her bridal shower. A team of loved ones planned the details of Danielle’s shower wonderfully. Leanne did a great job creating “Two Love Birds” labels for all of the yummy dishes brought by the friends of the bride. The cherry hand pies, in particular, were brought by the Mother of the Bride and the cupcakes were made by Roxie from Confections of a Bake-a-Holic. The “Two Love Birds” design was also drawn in chalk on the sidewalk by one of the sisters of the bride to welcome guests to the event. The couple loved the design so much that they decided to incorporate it into their wedding! (Pictures of that coming soon!)
The main reason why I love bridal showers so much is for the games. What could be more fun than getting together with a bunch of girlfriends and playing games centered around the bride? In Danielle’s case, she and her friends played a live-on-the-tv-screen version of Jeopardy complete with a variety of categories and even video daily doubles featuring the groom-to-be. Guests also had the opportunity to contribute to a “date jar” for the bride and groom – they would each write down a date idea and put it in the jar for the couple to look at later! Another genius way that the guests helped out the bride was with the thank you cards. The planning team set out a basket of cards for each guest to fill out with their name, address, and the gift that they brought. This took a lot of pressure off of the bride! Speaking of gifts, Danielle opened hers while sitting on a chair decorated with fun balloons and colors by her bridesmaids. Every detail of this event added to the fun atmosphere, even the flowers, which were bought and arranged by the bridesmaids (and also one bridesman).
